Biopuncture
This is a treatment that is administered in Europe at the rate of 70 million treatments each year and has been used in these countries for many decades (dating back to the mid- 50s) although the technique is as old as the ancient treatment of acupuncture.
Biopuncture consists of the use of homoeopathic medications and the stimulation of specific points, called 'trigger points' with a saline solution. The solution is injected just under the skin, into specific acu points. Injections may be given in more than one location during each session. Administration of these injections is by means of an applicator, so the technique cannot be compared to the administration of conventional injections. The needles are much finer, much like acupuncture needles. Pain or discomfort is minimal to non-existent.
Biopuncture is most useful in the regulation of acute and chronic muscular-skeletal conditions
ranging from sprain and strain, to osteoarthritis.
Medications which are administered are cortisone free and are free of unpleasant side effects associated with other anti-inflammatory medications.
Unlike conventional anti-inflammatory drugs which tend to mask the pain, Biopuncture is a technique which, by its very nature, assists the body's natural healing processes.
Biopuncture stimulates the body's healing mechanism through the process of inflammation. By injecting the saline solution at specific target sites, the body's healing mechanism is activated and the growth of new tissue (ligament and tendon) is stimulated. In fact tendon and ligament growth/repair is stronger and thicker than previously by up to 40%!
The relaxed ligament or tendon becomes the source of chronic pain especially at the point where it is attached to the bone. Injection of a saline solution at appropriate points draws the body's natural healing processes to the afflicted area by improving circulation to the site of the injury. Additionally, the inclusion of selectively chosen homoeopathic formulations hasten and assist with recovery.
So even with conditions such as cartilage injury, degenerative disc diseases, arthritis, sciatica, neck pain, back pain and sporting injuries Biopuncture will assist in eradicating the chronic pain of these and other painful conditions.
Sessions are for approximately half an hour. Depending on the severity of the condition, treatment is often twice weekly for the first two weeks and as the healing process is facilitated and the condition is ameliorated, treatments become weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Some conditions may require maintenance treatments to ensure that wellness is maintained.
