Dean began his career in the health industry shortly after completing his V.C.E. at St Bede's in Mentone. Intrigued by research relating to the placebo effects of medicine and the power of the mind to cure, he enrolled in the 4-year course, Clinical Hypnotherapy. Although Dean's studies further convinced him of the miraculous ability of the mind to cure the body, he also became aware that whilst the mind has a profound influence on the body, the body (and how we treat it) has a profound influence on the mind. This realisation served as the catalyst for four more years of study. This time Dean studied Naturopathy at the Australian College of Natural Medicine, where he graduated as the most outstanding Naturopathic student in the class of 1999.
